Health and Benefits Partners (H&BP), in East Norriton, PA, seeks an experienced Account Manager who can handle day-to-day management of and interaction with clients related to their health and ancillary insurance. This could be the right hands-on role, if you are detail-oriented, good-humored, and diligent and thrive at learning quickly in a challenging and fast-paced environment. Areas of Responsibility:

  • Handle day-to-day client management including assisting client company’s employees in enrolling for their benefits (primarily group health insurance), and fielding and handling their questions.
  • Take care of customer health insurance issues and process plan terminations.
  • Communicate via email and phone with business clients about these and other insurance matters.
  • Enter client insurance data using Ease software.
  • Assist clients with compliance and provide recommendations related to ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, and ERISA, as needed and appropriate.
  • Schedule meetings for H&BP’s Sales/Account Executives, etc.
  • Prepare materials for Sales/Account Executives prospect and client presentations.
  • Enter information to systems in order to get quotes for Sales/Account Executives for prospective and renewing clients (The majority will be with Blue Cross, some with Aetna and the remainder with other carriers.).
  • Analyze quotes to ensure completeness and that they match client demographics and their requested services.
  • Communicate information on a timely basis to the Sales/Account Executives (Also referred to as Benefits Consultants)

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 3-5 years professional, customer facing, office experience.
  • Strong organizational skills coupled with flexibility in dealing with shifting priorities, fluctuating workloads, and evolving procedures.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision, while maintaining positive staff relationships within a teamwork environment.
  • Tech savviness with ability and desire to quickly master new software.
  • A health insurance license or willingness to study for and earn an insurance license within a year of employment. (H&BP will assist you in this and pay for any related expenses. You will also earn a bonus upon successfully obtaining the license.)

Nice to Have Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in the health insurance industry.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Soft Skills Requirements:

  • Excellent verbal and written (email) communication skills.
  • Strong to desire to work with business clients in a high-volume customer service environment.
  • Friendly and engaging demeanor in dealing with prospects, clients, management and internal team.

Software Skills Required:

  • Experience using health insurance industry software Ease or other insurance carrier platform tools (a strong plus).
  • A general technology/computer bent such that researching, learning, and sharing new software and hardware tools is something you excel at and enjoy doing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Prior use of business chat software like Slack or Teams (a plus).
  • Prior use of project management software like Asana or MS Project (a plus).

Reporting:

  • You will report to the Sales/Account Executive leading your designated team.
